This town house in the heart of Montmartre, with a garden and a skylight glass roof, had four fairly narrow levels congested due to a large staircase. To make the space breathe and light circulate, the new architecture unfolds transparently around the glass walls and floors. The white staircase unfurls like a ribbon, blending into the decor of soft colors and blond wood. The basement also gained in ceiling height making it possible to add precious square meters of living space. Photos © Pauline Le Goff
